Hi to all, i have installed spagobi server doing the same step suggeste from the documentation.
The tomcat seems to work, and in fact the site localhost:8080/SpagoBI is reachable, but when i try to log on with the users
biadmin
bitest
bimodel
bidev
biuser

the response of server is always "User o Password invalida ".
Who can help me? What i have to do to resolve this problem?

Thanks

What do you use as pwd? Remember that the pwd is always equal to the user name ...

  • biadmin/biadmin

  • bidev/bidev

  • biuser/biuser

  • ecc ...

  • Regards

    Yes I use for all user password=username.

    I give an account about all the step of my installation:
    -I created a mysql db "foodmart" and i execute the mysqlscripts on it
    -I installed JDK last version
    -i installed tomcat 6.0.26
    -I copy the SPAGO war file in the tomcat webapps folder.
    -I add the libraries that are in the demo packet
    -and finally I modify the server.xml

    The prodecure is correct?

    Thanks

    Ok,
    look this previous post. You have not modified the metadata database dialect as described here

    I have done all settings shows in the manual that you linked to me, but the result is the same. Where I can see if these usere are really defined in my system? They are saved in the foodmart database that i created or in some xml configuration file?

    Thanks

    Check the table sbi_users in your metadata database (usually named spagobi). Let me know if it is empty or not.

    Ok I have done all steps again, now the table sbi_users have the right users, the aplication start, but the content of the page is empty (except for th headr with the spagobi immage). I list here alla my step in detail, tell me if i missed something.

    1)Creation of a database named “spagobi”;

    2)Execution of the sql scripts from the file mysql-dbscript-2.5.0_04092010.zip: MySQL_create.sql; MySQL_create_comment.sql (the comments are too long for a Mysql DB I cut a part of it); MySQL_create_fk.sql; MySQL_create_quartz_schema.sql; MYSQL_upgradescript_2.4.0_to_2.5.0.sql (this is the upgrade to 2.5 even if most of operations doesn’t work because, they were already done with the script before).

    3)Execution of the the sql script from the file foodmart-mysql-20090211.zip, that create and insert some data in the foodmart db.

    4)Change the MySQL File dimension (my.ini) , adding the line “max_allowed_packet=16M”

    5)I edited the file server.xml in the folder Tomcat 6.0\conf, i inserted this fragment of XML:

    <Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10" maxWait="-1" name="jdbc/spagobi" password="root" type="javax.sql.DataSource" url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/spagobi" username="root"/>
    <Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10" maxWait="-1" name="jdbc/foodmart" password="root" type="javax.sql.DataSource" url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/foodmart" username="root"/>
    <Environment name="spagobi_resource_path" type="java.lang.String" value="C:\spagobi2.0\resources"/>
    <Environment name="spagobi_sso_class" type="java.lang.String" value="it.eng.spagobi.services.common.FakeSsoService"/>
    <Environment name="spagobi_service_url" type="java.lang.String" value="http://localhost:8080/SpagoBI"/>
    <Environment name="spagobi_host_url" type="java.lang.String" value="http://localhost:8080"/>

    And I checked that all the context (META-INF/context.xml), if the had the resource-link inside. I see that in the row <Context docBase="SpagoBI" path="/SpagoBI" privileged="true" reloadable="false"> the field “reloadable” in some context is true and in other is false. It is correct?

    My questions are:
    -Password and username=root, are the user and password to access to maysql db, so I have to change using the account that I want to use. Is it right?
    - Instead I think that I have no to change the name “jdbc/foodmart” and “jdb/spagobi”,it is necessary to create two ODBC connection with my two database using these names?

    6)the manual than say “The JDBC driver must be presented in the folder lib” so I add the file mysql-connector-java-5.1.13-bin.jar in the folder Tomcat 6.0\lib

    7)the manual say to create a path C:\spagobi2.0\resources, i created it, I’d like to understand what is used for.

    i add the library commonj-twm.jar, concurrent.jar, foo-commonj.jar to the folder Tomcat 6.0\lib

    9)Finally I checkd all the steps in section 3.3 Configure DBMS, and all is ok.

    What else to do?

    Thanks for all

    1)Creation of a database named “spagobi”;

    ok

    2)Execution of the sql scripts from the file mysql-dbscript-2.5.0_04092010.zip: MySQL_create.sql; MySQL_create_comment.sql (the comments are too long for a Mysql DB I cut a part of it); MySQL_create_fk.sql; MySQL_create_quartz_schema.sql; MYSQL_upgradescript_2.4.0_to_2.5.0.sql

    You do not need to execute MYSQL_upgradescript_2.4.0_to_2.5.0.sql if you start already from a clean 2.5 metadata schema. BTW it should not be a problem

    Execution of the the sql script from the file foodmart-mysql-20090211.zip, that create and insert some data in the foodmart db.

    ok, that's the demo dwh

    4)Change the MySQL File dimension (my.ini) , adding the line “max_allowed_packet=16M”

    ok

    5)I edited the file server.xml in the folder Tomcat 6.0\conf, i inserted this fragment of XML: ...

    yes. Relodable equals to false mean that every time you change a class file in your web application you have to restart the server in order to see the effects of the modification. Otherwise relodable equals to true mean that the server take care to check if something has changed and if it is so it reload the web app. Usually relodable is set to true during development and to false in production.

    My questions are:
    -Password and username=root, are the user and password to access to maysql db, so I have to change using the account that I want to use. Is it right?

    yes it's right

    - Instead I think that I have no to change the name “jdbc/foodmart” and “jdb/spagobi”,it is necessary to create two ODBC connection with my two database using these names?

    no, it's enough to change the connection configuration parameters in the server.xml

    6)the manual than say “The JDBC driver must be presented in the folder lib” so I add the file mysql-connector-java-5.1.13-bin.jar in the folder Tomcat 6.0\lib

    ok

    7)the manual say to create a path C:\spagobi2.0\resources, i created it, I’d like to understand what is used for.

    it's where spagobi save some static resources. You can change the path anyway in the server.xml ...

    9)Finally I checkd all the steps in section 3.3 Configure DBMS, and all is ok.

    ok

    It seem all correct. Can you restart your sever, login and then send me the spagobi.log file?
