Good evening,

I have installed Spago , and I have access correctly to the portal via wbe brower.
But as the connection to the repository (MySQL) is correct , defining another connection to
an Oracle datasource is a nightmare.

As I have read on the net the connection for this datasource should be defined on $CATALINA_HOME/conf/server.xml.
So do I,

But the test for this connection on the portal is not OK .

Here is the log from SpagoBI.log :

Do you have any idea ?

Thanks for your help

Jean

Have you copied the jdbc driver lib for oracle (i.e. ojdbcXX.jar) into TOMCAT/lib folder? If not do it and restart the server. Than test the connection again.

Good morning Andrea,

Thanks for your reply ...

The driver ojdbc14.jar has been installed into TOMCAT/lib directory .
I suppose that the error is coming from a mal formated url , or bad usage of jdbc string ...

Thanks

Jean

Can you test the connection url and the db credentials with an external db client like for example sqlDevelopper? In this way we can understand if the problem is related to the connection url or if we have to look somewhere else.

Good afternoon Andrea,

Thanks for your reply.

The test I have done is to test the jdbc url within Spago BI Studio.. And it is working well.
But when inserted into eh .xml file within the server , there are errors ..

Thanks

Have you properly modified also the context.xml file of SpagoBI? Look here: https://wiki.spagobi.org/xwiki/bin/view/spagobi_server/Installation#HEditserverxml

If you not bound the jndi connection in the context of SpagoBI you cannot use it.

Good morning,

I have completly clean my installation and I have downloaded the Demo version 2.6 of SpagoBI . The installation is OK, and the SpagoBI portal is very nice to used.
I have seen all the reports, dashboards, KPI and so on ... This is a wonderful preview of what it is possible to do with Spago.

I have try to go one step ahead, creating a report with SpagoBI Studio, using an Oracle DataSource. The report is running well in SpagoBI Studio and I was also able to
deploy this report on the Spago portal.

But while in the Sapgo portal, when I launched my report I get the following error :

...

Note that I have installed the oracle jdbc driver into :
webapps/SpagoBI/WEB-INF/lib
lib (root directory of the Demo Install)
webapps/SpagoBIBirtReportEngine/WEB-INF/platform/plugins/org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_2.5.2.v20100205/drivers

Do you have any idea about this problematic ? Do you meet this kind of errors ? What solutions did you found ?

Have a nice day

Jean

I usually copy my jdbc jar files in TOMCAT/lib.
