Hi there,

I'm trying to deploy SpagoBI 3.0 on an empty Tomcat 6.0.32.
I did run the *create.sql scripts, add the variables into my SERVER.xml file.

There are no errors when I deploy SpagoBI.war.
BUT I can't access to SpagoBI, I get this error in SpagoBI.log :

SpagoBI tells me there is an error as you can see :
https://openei.arismore.fr/SpagoBI

What did I do wrong ?

Regards,
Geoffrey

--- EDIT ---
SBI_CONFIG and SBI_USER are empty...
Spago should have inserted some data during the deployment ?

Hi,

I have installed SpagoBI3.0 and it seems to be working fine. Now I want to create a MySQL datasource which will use my own manually created database on the server running SpagoBI. I get "Error during Connection test" prompt when I try to create datasource using following steps:

1) Login to SpagoBI using biadmin credentials.
2) Click on Resources->Datasource
3) Click on "+Add" button to create datasource.
4) Enter following details:

Label: My MySQLDB
Description: My First MySQL Database
Dialect: MySQL
MULTISCHEMA: NO
Schema Attribut: <blank>
Type: jdbc
URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mydb
user: root
password: <password of root>
Driver: com.mysql.jdbc.driver

I am not able to add my own database so that I can leverage SpagoBI to use it. I have mysql-connector-java-XXXX.jar in tomcat/lib folder.

Please assist in adding my database to SpagoBI.

Thanks
Saurya

Hi Saurya

you should define the resource in the server.xml file under the conf directory of Tomcat

You should add lines like the following, adapt the values to your installation:

<Resource name="jdbc/mydb" auth="Container"
type="javax.sql.DataSource" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/mydb"
username="root" password="mysql" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
maxWait="-1"/>

Then add a line in all context.xml file in the SpagoBI webapps you are using (under META-INF folder):

<ResourceLink global="jdbc/mydb" name="jdbc/mydb" type="javax.sql.DataSource"/>

I have the same problem connecting to MySQL:

I enter the connection info to ${TOMCAT}/conf/server.xml

And ${TOMCAT}/webapps/SpagoBI/META-INF/context.xml

Data source connection in UI:

MySQL table is also renamed:

What else is missing?

Where do I find the log or some kind of trace to see what the error is?
