Hi Alberto,

Thanks for the reply, I guess thanks to Monday, I understand nothing out of that. When I checked how to declare the connection pool in Tomcat, I seen that I have to make lot more configuration than this. I am not an IT developed - though I will be one very soon if I continue this way, so please send me something more complete, if you can, of course.

Ciao,

Zsolt
Hello Forum,

I try to declare my DB connection as JNDI connection for the sake of portability. Can anyone help me with some samples how to modify the relevant Tomcat XML files?

Help is greatly appreciated,

Zsolt Putnoky
Well, I dont know what you mean by a Dashboard, but here is what I did:

I created several reports via Birt using some attributes and dynamic filters. When I was sure each works properly, I created a composite document. The composite document was a fun to do as I quickly throw all the reports into the doc and generated the XML description, then using the editor I corrected the XML file to make sure that all reports are properly aligned and in the right order.

Once deployed on the server, I created a new menu point which is pointing to this document. When the user logs in, my filter takes his userid attribute (via LOV) and populated each report element of the composite document with the data. The user sees the 'dashboard' when he/she logs in.

the only thing does not work is the printing, still working on it.

As far as I know, SpagoBI is using the 1.6 version. Have not tried with 1.7, need to experiment abit
I guess to use the TALEND I would need a DWH, which I would like to avoid at this stage. What I did was a quick hack to demo what is possible and I plan to have a kinda continuous improvement. For me the BM+Query was a viable solution, but, heck, it does not work......will investigate other possibilities.
You can also try this:

Select the Chart object in the Studio, then Select the Script tab. Once there, select Script:OnRender and add the following lines:

function afterDataSetFilled( series, dataSet, icsc )
{
icsc.getChartInstance().getBlock().getBounds().setWidth(1630);
icsc.getChartInstance().getBlock().getBounds().setHeight(400);
}

Where you set the Width and Height as you wish.

Hope it help,

Zsolt
Hi Community,

Happy New 2013. Hope it will be a better year for all of us.

Have a small project to complete. In order to prepare a proof-of-concept, I created all my queries as views on the database. Now, it is time to make it real, so I imagined to create business models, then query them and deploy it on the SpagoBI server. So far so good, but then I would like to use these datasets to power my Birt reports, here I run into some problems.

I got the error above, it is basically says that is it unable to download the dataset list from SpagoBI server.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Zsolt
Hi Community,

Reading the SpagoBI book I seen that it is possible to assign a note to a document. I tried to add a note as User 1 to a document. When I log in as User 2 - having the same access right - I dont see the comment added by User 1 (set as Public). So, I tried to add a note as User 2, log-out, log-in as User 1.

The only thing which is visible is the very 1st note, no way to add a new one - as reply to the User 2 comment.

It is the normal operation? Is there a special settings to tune to allow this?

Merry Xmas and Happy 2013 to all of you,

Zsolt
Solved.

When the layout is set to FIXED LAYOUT, the VERTICAL ALIGNMENT is not working. As soon as changed to AUTO LAYOUT, it does.

Zsolt
Ok, I see it in the DOS like window. Thanks alot for the info.

Zsolt
yes, it does, though there are some issues which I am not sure whether related to the opening issue or not
macortel wrote:Hi,
where did you see that errors?
To install SpagoBI Studio you have only to unzip the downloaded archive file.
Please follow this guidelines to report your problem: https://www.spagoworld.org/jforum/posts/list/1346.page

Marco

Hi Marco,

This is what I did too and I get the same message every time.

Zsolt
Hi Community,

I would like to use the annotate document function to exchange information between the different users of the same document. When I create a note it is visible for the given user, when logged in as another one, the previous comment is not visible.

Is there a special settings to allow this? or it is working like this as default?

Cheers,

Zsolt
Solution: Java 7 installed, then Spago Studio is not working properly! removed Java 7, Spago works, but other tools not :)
Hi Community,

Have an issue with the ChartEditor, when I try to create a new jFreeChart document, Spago Studio throws an exception:
