Could you help me out, i really need to run Spago over Ubuntu, but couldn't get it to function correctly.
Hi!

I tried what you explained to me in here, and it didn't work. So i tried to run my Talend jobs in the Demo of spago 2.6 and they worked so i am guessing that i am missing some configuration of talend.

Is there any configuration i need to do in order to work with talend?

Thank you!
I am getting the same error, but i dont understand how you solved it, what do you mean it was due to your contexts, can you help me by explaining what you did in order to solve this problem.
Ok, i did everything as i understand i should be doing it:

First i create my job in talend Open Studio
Second i right click on the job, and click Export Job Scripts, after that it opens a wizard where it asks me the export settings.
Once i click finish, it creates a zip file; I extract that zip file in resources path so it will create something like these:

resources/talend/RuntimeRepository/[Project name]
resources/talend/RuntimeRepository/[Project name]/[Job name]
resources/talend/RuntimeRepository/[Project name]/[Job name]/[All the files from the job]
resources/talend/RuntimeRepository/[Project name]/lib

So far so good, after that i need to create a xml template definition in a text editor, it should look something like this:
This one is the one that comes in the demo version of SpagoBI 2.6

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<etl>
<job context="Default" jobName="Clean_Audit" language="java" project="ProvaCorso"/>
</etl>

Save this document, then in the document creation wizard in SpagoBI, i create a new document with this document as a template.

Then i execute it, but it gives me an error, so i go to check the logs and it says the following:

04 Sep 2010 20:44:31,546 ERROR it.eng.spagobi.utilities.engines.AbstractEngineStartServlet.handleException:91 - Service execution failed

at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$Worker.run(AprEndpoint.java:1584)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619)

So i get the following questions:

What is the correct format of the template.xml definition document the one that has the <etl></etl> tags
1. The project name must be the same that the folder names, or it can be diferent, etc.
2. The same question but with the job name.
3. Was checking the demo and it puts the sample job under a folder named java, is this necesary
4.Can i connect to datasources that are not defined in spago datasources, in my talend jobs

I don't understand how to create a document using template, only.

If someone could explain me how to create a document using a XML Schema Document i create outside the resources path that would be great, using the Browse to locate the document.

Thanks.
I think it was due to Ubuntu, because i did the installation in a XP Professional machine and it worked wonderfully, thanx anyway.
I think it was due to Ubuntu, because i did the installation in a XP Professional machine and it worked wonderfully, thanx anyway.

I'm guessing here but i believe the problem might be that SpagoBI is not able to access the definition document.

I think it is because of a bad configuration of the resource folder, and its permissions.
I am not sure it is a problem with the Meta-Data because:

I can log in to SpagoBI
Plus the document is saved even tough it throw up this error.
Thank you Davide,

This problem occurs when i try to use the web tool, to create the schema, the schema creator never comes up, it give me this errors.

Because I couldn't create the document from the web tool, i then copied the template from the demo version of SpagoBI, so i guess this is a correct document. But i am not 100% sure.

I even tried, instead of creating the document from the template creator, try to create the template with Schema Workbench and then upload it, but when i try to save the document i get "Generic error", but this error does not show any log information, so it is not telling me what might the problem be.

When i try to create a new document, or save a modified document it throws up a screen saying nothing more that "Generic error".

I does saves the document, but i gives me this error.
I am currently running in a Ubuntu 10.04, installed tomcat6 from the repository (apt-get install tomcat6).

Then i downloaded all the engines for SpagoBI 2.6 to function, extracted the files to the webapps directory, installed the metadata.

So i start SpagoBI by going to http://localhost:8080/SpagoBI, and everything works ok, i can log in, create datasources, datasets, functionalities and documents.

After that i extracted the SpagoBIJPivotEngine in the webapps folder, after that i test the engine in the engine definition and it responds that everything is ok.

I create the foodmart datasource and it responds that everything is ok.

So after that i create a new document as a OLAP document, then i press the template button, after that it asks wich Schema to work with, i click ok, and then it gives the following error.
